May 2023 In an article in the South China Morning Post, Trash Hero Programme Director Seema Prabhu discusses how cleanups cannot solve plastic pollution, but are an important tool for educating local communities and holding corporate polluters accountable through collected data.

March 2023 Trash Hero Da Nang’s hard work running regular cleanups for over six months in Vietnam has been featured in a national newspaper, that praised their success in bringing together strangers to form a civic-minded community.

February 2023 “Let’s Recycle Glass Bottles” challenged primary schools to collect 10 tonnes of glass in a local competition. The goal was smashed, and a total of 24 tonnes was collected, with the help of Trash Hero Mersing at their weekly cleanups. The success of the initiative has inspired a yearly event.

June 2022 Tele 1 reporters joined the Trash Hero Luzern volunteers at their 25th cleanup in the Swiss city. The team conducted a cleanup and a brand audit. A brand audit records information about the companies producing the plastic found at cleanups and contributes to global research on corporate polluters. August 2019: The Bangkok Post covers the collaboration between our partner, Tlejourn and famous Thai shoe manufacturer, Nanyang. The upcycled, limited edition flip flop was produced with trash collected by our volunteers.

August 2019: NBC News publishes a feature and mini-documentary on plastic pollution in Bali, and efforts to combat it – including an interview with Trash Hero Kertalangu’s Putu Evie.

July 2019: The popular Thai kids’ news programme, Kids Tan Khao (คิดส์ทันข่าว) on the ThaiPBS channel interviews Trash Hero Hua Hin for a feature on plastic pollution (Thai language only).

The Thai language national newspaper, Daily News, runs a full page feature on Trash Hero, focusing on efforts in Langsuan.

May 2019: The Bangkok Post is impressed that the Provincial Chief Prosecutor of Prachuap Khiri Khan cleans beaches with Trash Hero on her day off.

March 2019: A report on the work of Trash Hero Beograd, filmed at one of their weekly cleanups from BBC News Serbia [in Serbian].
