The Environmental Protection Agency of the world’s second largest greenhouse gas emitter has been prevented from regulating emissions from fossil fuel plants, leaving the US government with limited means to reach its target of a decarbonised power grid by 2035 – and unknown consequences for the global fight against climate change.
